   I agree with Oprah, for me judges should consider the candidates who can speak an international language (which is an “English”) in a competition like this. Considering that the contest is world wide and not for a particular country itself.

   You do not get the crown because you speak English. This is Miss Universe, not Miss America or Miss England. Contestants should be able to answer using the language they feel most comfortable with to give them a fair chance. I speak 4 languages but I would hate to have to answer a question in French or Spanish, especially when under pressure. I would prefer to answer in my native language which is English…not because it’s the “universal” language but because I am most comfortable speaking English! Go Ms. Angola. You deserve the crown and title!!!

   yes indeed, now i don’t like watching miss universe, it is so unfair, when u r joining a universe competition, u should know the universal language.hello” common sense thats why the title is “MISS UNIVERSE “..no need for translator, sometimes u can’t trust them.hope they realize.

   Shamcey’s answer was good but the pageant is made up of other criteria as well. Perhaps in the other categories she did not rank as high as the others. Like Oprah said, IF it had been JUST the Q&A, Shamcey should’ve won. Since it’s not, maybe 3rd is what all her other scores summed up to.
   (What Shamcey said about not winning the crown was a winning statement though. I suggest you look it up.)

   yeah thats true,,,during Q AND A portion of ms. universe, they should use ENGLISh SInCE WE ALL KNOW THAT english is the universal language………

   Just like the rest, I am satisfied with Ms. Philippines answer. Whether we’ve been cheated on or not, what’s been done is done and let’s accept the result.
   Imagine, 80+ candidates and Philippines placed 3rd! Again, let’s be happy and be contented as we all know whose the real winner in our hearts and minds.

   Well done, Ms. Philippines! For sure, Filipinos are very proud of you as you represent the country with authentic beauty, intelligence and poise.

   Im very much agree to Miss Ohprah shes the only one in the world gave her opinion on the recent beauty pageant if the criteria is beauty and talent the Miss U…… organization should put high percentage on talent as well the judges not all beauty remember Miss U is carrying the whole universe the winner has the abilty to deal and talk to different people.Winner should know,understand and speak ENGLISH the contest is run in English converssation everywhere they go the participants should understand what they are talking about and should be main asset of the winner because English is international language that means its easy to get around everywhere you go if you can speak English and do not depend on the translator beacause in the non english dialect country they learn how to speak it beacause of the foreigner coming to their country.Miss U…..credibility is very cheap for me organization and judges look the beauty alone not how they communicate well and response to the questions .The pageant should remove the translator if ever the participants should answer first then translator explains afterwards no interruption or pause during QA
